Personal Safety...

Now that it’s getting darker and the clocks have gone back, make sure you think about your safety in and around Birmingham.

Never walk home alone and stick to well lit areas to ensure you’re safe when going home, or get a taxi straight to your door.

Keeping valuables hidden and not listening to music too loud will make sure you don’t attract people and that you’re aware of what’s going on around you.

For more detailed information and other ways to stay safe in your house, on buses and many other places, visit one or more of the following links;

Taxis

Whichever taxi company you use, make sure you pre-book or use a black cab to make sure you’re insured. Where possible use the Guild of Students’ accredited company and make the most of the agreed prices (more info and complaints process here).

IMMOBILISE.com

If your phone, bike, computer or any other registered item is lost or stolen, use Immobilise to instantly tell police, insurers, and the second-hand trade. These actions help greatly in the recovery of your property and capture of thieves. www.immobilise.com/
