Safeguarding at the University of Birmingham Guild of Students
The Guild of Students is committed to ensuring that a safe and supportive environment exists for all staff, officers, volunteers, students and visitors to the Guild.
This Safeguarding Policy is for the protection of:
Children
- A child is anyone under the age of 18
Adults at risk
- An adult at risk is a person aged 18 or older who has care and support needs, (whether or not these needs are being met); and, is experiencing or at risk of, abuse or neglect; and as a result of those care and support needs is unable to protect themselves from either the risk of, or the experience of abuse or neglect
If you have a concern about a child or an adult at risk, then please do report this to our safeguarding officers by emailing safeguarding@guild.bham.ac.uk. This inbox is monitored Monday to Friday 9-5pm, with the exception of closed periods such as bank holidays.
If you do not feel your concern can wait, you can contact the Birmingham Emergency Duty Team on 0121 675 4806.
If a child or adult at risk is in clear and immediate danger, please contact the Emergency Services on 999 or the Birmingham Emergency Duty Team on 0121 675 4806.
