Student Support Advisor
£24,062 gross per annum - 35.5 hours per week
This role is part of the Student Community Welfare department working collectively with colleagues delivering the Guild’s support activity for students living in University and nominated accommodation. The department sits within the Support & Representation Directorate.
The Student Mentor Scheme is an innovative model of welfare support in University and nominated student accommodation. The Student Support Advisor will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a positive ambassador for the Guild and facilitating under-represented groups to find a comfortable place here.
The role is required to contribute to developing welfare support for students living in University residences through the Student Mentor Scheme, along with providing supervision, support and guidance to Student Mentors and assisting in the smooth running of the peer-to-peer service across a number of sites. The Student Support Advisor assists in helping recruit, train, supervise and support the Student Mentors who deliver the front line service, as well as ensuring effective administration of the scheme. The role is responsible for promoting the service through a series of events and campaigns.
We are looking for candidates who are capable of working independently and using their own initiative, along with being flexible, motivated and an organised team player with a commitment to customer service.
This role will involve working some evenings and weekends as appropriate, to ensure effective engagement with the Student Mentor Scheme.
