Venues Development Manager

£37,487 (rising to £40,963) per annum - 35.5 hours per week (annualised)

The Guild wishes to recruit a proactive Venues Development Manager who will be responsible for the successful operation and ongoing development of the Venues department including all licenced trade and catering operations along with the delivery and security of events and technical services to meet the organisations strategic aims and objectives.

The Guild is a values led organisation, and as a not for profit charity, income generated in our commercial services funds student activities.

The role
This role has responsibility for developing venues related commercial income, in line with the Commercial Strategy, including the development of new income streams, and the efficient operations of existing income streams. The role is responsible for the development and productivity of the Guild’s large scale events, bars, catering, security, technical services, and customer service; along with being proactive in the development of commercial operations to ensure that all services and activities support students to have fun in an inclusive environment, as set out in the Guild’s strategic plan

  • 5 days close down during Christmas, and 2 during Easter each year, in additional to bank holidays and 21 days annual leave, meaning you will not work during Christmas, New Year or Easter.
  • Weekend and evening working is shared amongst the team, and as such this role does not work every weekend
  • A usual working week is 35.5 hours- there are times when it is very busy and you will need to work more hours, however this role offers the flexibility to be able to take time off when the department is less busy, usually during the summer months.
