The Guild’s current response
As the Government has announced an end to all restrictions, and following the University's approach to deliver in-person learning on campus wherever possible, your Guild is 'open for business'! Your Guild building is open from 9am until 5pm (summer opening hours), and our services are all offered in person once again. You'll be able to book an appointment with one of our advisors, visit our Officer team, join student groups, enjoy in-person activities, or eat, drink and relax in Joe's Bar, once more.
We will do everything we can to keep you safe and Covid free, but we need your help to ensure this, so please keep getting tested regularly, wear face masks inside our building (unless you are exempt) and keep up to date with your Covid vaccinations and booster (further details can be found below).
We also recognise that some of our students may still feel uneasy with in-person events and activities, so you can still access the majority of our services virtually, should you wish. You'll find more details of how to access these virtual services, below.
How we're keeping you safe
Lateral Flow Testing
We would encourage all students to follow the University's guidance and test themselves regularly (twice per week throughout the semester, or more regularly if you are attending in-person events) for signs of Covid-19.
FREE Covid Vaccinations
The University has held several dedicated vaccination centres on campus, via a mobile service. We're unsure of additional dates at the present time, but please follow our social media channels for further updates.
Face Masks
Although the wearing of face masks is no longer required by law, we would advise you to wear them wherever possible, inside your Guild building and all University buildings, particularly in busy areas.
Covid Passes
As the Government have now said that Covid passes do not need to be shown to gain entry to nightclubs, we will no longer be checking the status of Covid Passes at our venue. The new changes came into effect from 12am on Thursday 27th January 2022.
