This session, the first of many, is to familiarise new students and staff with the world of XR, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). Throughout, we'll explore what XR is, how it's used in research and industry, and discuss the various projects happening right here at the university. This talk session introduces Diar Karim, a PhD researcher at the School of Psychology's VR Lab, who will be talking about his experience with the field, and what he is up to.
We'll also introduce the VR Society—who we are, our goals, and the community we support!
