CSS is one of the biggest Guild societies here at UoB, and by extension, it has one of the largest committees to run the society. In total, we have 14 roles on committee, each with varying roles and positions to ensure the society can continue running. Because we don't always fill these roles and have interim ones, we hold at least one EGM every year to give members a chance to propose changes to CSS and run for roles to make their mark on the society!
This EGM, we will be electing for five different roles - Socials Secretary, EDI Officer, First Year Rep, Postgraduate (Taught) Rep and Postgraduate (Research) Rep. The First Year and PGT Reps are interim roles that have new people running for them, so we normally elect them around this time. Since we didn't fill the Socials Secretary role at the last AGM, we'll be re-opening nominations for the role this EGM, and will also be holding nominations for EDI Officer and PGR Rep, as the committee currently occupying these roles have chosen to step down.
If you want the opportunity to make a change within CSS, this EGM is your calling - Join us on the 6th of November from 1pm in Y3-G34 to elect our new committee! We'll also be voting on any constitutional amendments proposed, talking about how the society is doing and allowing you to collect the TeX Ballot sticker, one of our special events stickers only obtainable through EGMs and AGMs.
This is a members-only event, but if you're a member, you'll be able to access the voting website for CSS at https://vote.cssbham.com and stand for roles early. A week before the EGM, we'll allow people to start sending their manifestos into the Discord EGM channels, which you can join at https://cssbham.com/discord .
We hope to see you there!
