Trigger warning: mentions sexual harrassment

The Not-on Campaign has been a collaborative project led by the Guild of Students and supported by the University of Birmingham for a number of years. Its goal is to educate and empower students to create an inclusive and welcoming community at Birmingham that is free from sexual harassment, where bodily autonomy is respected, and where people feel secure no matter where they are.

The campaign was initially launched in 2015 and was supported by national and global movements such as #MeToo. Over the last decade, we have seen significant social change in this area, as there is more awareness and understanding of this issue throughout society. Our student population and the way they interact with campaigns has also changed in that time. Therefore, the Guild is temporarily pausing the Not-On Campaign for the remainder of the academic year in order to refresh the project.

This process will be led by a student staff member who, in collaboration with the Student Voice Department, will conduct a series of engagement opportunities and undertake research into how the campaign can be updated for the new Academic Year. We want to ensure that the Not-On campaign remains relevant and at the forefront of challenging inappropriate behaviour at the University of Birmingham. We would love for you to be a part of this conversation.

If you’d like to participate in any upcoming review activity with the campaign or would like to learn more about the researcher role, reach out to us at studentvoice@guild.bham.ac.uk

We intend to relaunch the project in September 2024.
