BUDS

Welcome to BUDS! We are the University of Birmingham Dance Society, one of the largest active societies at UoB!

We are a super inclusive society offering weekly dance classes in a variety of styles and at every level. This year, we are offering Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Heels,Tap, Street and Commercial for all abilities. We also offer classes to improve your general strength, fitness and dance technique. Our classes are taught by fellow students and we aim to create a fun, non-judgemental environment in every session. 

If you are a competitve dancer, we also have squads that represent the society at inter-university dance competitions each year. These squads vary in style, and this year we will be entering ballet, jazz, wildcard, contemporary and tap squads! 

At BUDS we aim to unite students through their love of dance. We run regular socials to allow our members to get to know each other, so keep an eye on our social media for the details! 

We also put on a show every year in semester 2 to give our members the opportunity to showcase the work they have been doing in class throughout the year. This is the highlight of the BUDS calendar and is always an absolutely fantastic experience!
