GUILD PRESIDENT
Representation. Leadership. Meetings.
- Deputy chair of the Guild’s board of trustees
- Ensures the Guild works for the interest of its members
- Makes sure the University are consistently acting in the interests of students.
- Leads and supports the full and part time Officer Team
REPRESENTATION AND RESOURCES OFFICER
Democracy. Events. Campaigns.
- Makes sure students’ needs are met through our democratic system.
- Helps you get the most out of our building
- Works to make sure our big events are what you want
ACTIVITIES AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Activities. Opportunities. Skills.
- Makes sure student societies and volunteering groups run smoothly and have the tools they need to develop
- Chairs Megaforums and Miniforums throughout the year to keep in contact with committee members.
- Helps students develop through planning and supporting skills and employability workshops
HOUSING AND COMMUNITY OFFICER
Housing. Freshers. Safety. Selly Oak.
- Works to improve the quality of housing so students enjoy living in Birmingham
- Organises Freshers events and runs the Residents’ Association scheme
- Empowers students to feel safer where they live
- Increases the sense of community within the local area
WELFARE OFFICER
Wellbeing. Equality. Support.
- Helps students to access the support they need to make the most of University
- Ensures that support available to students is effective
- Campaigns on issues affecting student welfare
- Facilitates building an inclusive community for all students
EDUCATION OFFICER
Engage. Enhance. Empower.
- Leads the Student Representation System to make sure students are effectively represented on their course
- Works alongside the University to enhance the educational experience of all students
- Places student interests at the heart of every university decision to ensure courses are the best they can be
SPORTS OFFICER
Clubs. Wellbeing. Getting Active.
- Works closely with UB Sport to make sure sports clubs are what students want
- Makes sure that there’s provision for everyone, from elite to beginner, to get involved in sports
- Helps students across campus get active in the ways that suit them
POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS’ OFFICER
Academic experience. Community. Representation.
- Facilitates the postgraduate voice in academic affairs by working closely with the Graduate School and University
- Works with postgrads to make sure they feel part of their community and can get involved in ways that suit them
- Champions the postgraduate experience and changes the culture of ‘just for undergrads’
- Works on issues relating to international students, student parents and carers and distance learners
NUS NATIONAL CONFERENCE DELEGATE
Represent. Network. Change.
- Represent Birmingham University students at NUS National Conference
- Vote on policy to benefit fellow students
- Network with other students from across the UK

- Campaigns on issues relating to fighting racism and fascism
- Sits on the Student Equality and Diversity Committee
COMMUNITY ACTION OFFICER
Promoting a positive student image.
- Getting students involved in positive community activities
- Bridging the gap between students and the local community
DISABLED STUDENTS' OFFICER

- Giving a voice to the disabled students of the University of Birmingham
- Campaigning to remove the barriers that hinder the experiences of disabled students at university
- Co-Chair of Disability and Mental Health Students’ Association (DAMSA)
ETHICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER
Campaigning. Raising awareness.
- Raising awareness of the Guild and University’s environmental impact and helping to develop a more sustainable student community
- Sits on Ethical and Environmental committee
ETHNIC MINORITY STUDENTS' OFFICER
Campaigning. Representation.
- Giving a voice to the Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) students of the University of Birmingham
- Campaign to remove the barriers that hinder the experiences of BME students at university
- Co-Chair of Black and Ethnic Minority Students’ Association (BEMA)
HOME STUDENTS' OFFICER
Support. Community.
- Helping create a sense of community for students who chose to live at home whilst studying at the University of Birmingham
- Co-Chair of the Home Students’ Association.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS' OFFICER
Support. Representation. Campaigning.
- Represent international students to the University and the Guild
- Providing support for international students whilst they study at the University of Birmingham
LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANS & QUEER STUDENTS' OFFICER
Representation. Campaigning. Support.
- Ensuring the Guild is at the forefront in the fight for equal rights for LGBTQ students
- Supporting LGBTQ students that may need help

MATURE & PART TIME STUDENTS' OFFICER

- Campaigning to ensure Mature and Part-Time students have a great university experience
- Ensuring that the Guild is actively promoting initiatives that support and represent the welfare and interests of Mature and Part-time students
SATELLITE SITES OFFICER
Campaigning. Representation.
- Making sure the Guild and University provides for the needs of Satellite Sites students
- Ensuring Satellite Site students feel a part of the University of Birmingham community
WOMENS' OFFICER
Campaigning. Representation.
- Raising awareness and campaigning on issues facing women and non-binary students
- Representing women and non-binary students to the Guild and University.
