Ideas
The closest zero waste store for groceries is an hour away. One of the existing stalls could be replaced or a new stall created with just some basic groceries to help culture Birmingham’s plastic free policy. It only needs to be a few of the essentials, e.g. soap, washing up liquid, cereals, pasta and rice.
This is particularly relevant as an issue at the moment as internationally there are international debates occurring around plastic and plastic pollution and it would be great to see Birmingham Uni get involved with this as well. Whilst Hazaar is great, it does not provide zero waste solutions to groceries.
Policy
Ensuring that students who want to reduce their plastic pollution are able to without having to go an unnecessarily long distance or pay high costs
Scrutiny
How can the Uni help students take practical steps to go plastic free?
