Listening Service
The Student Mentor Scheme can provide students living in University accommodation with a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to come and air any worries or concerns you may have.
When experiencing difficulties your family and friends can be a great support but sometimes it can help by talking to someone who you don’t know. Student Mentors are not counsellors; they are students like you and can empathise with what you are going through. They will not tell you what to do, they will just listen.
Here are some of the things you can come and talk to a Student Mentor about:
-
Homesickness
-
Settling in issues
-
Loneliness
-
Flatmates problems
-
Relationships/friendships
-
Bereavement and loss
-
If you are feeling low, anxious or upset about anything…
Whatever you are going through, big or small, we will support you. If you would like to talk to a Student Mentor please
